Account Management
Elevators

Mastery-level programs that build the future-ready capabilities experienced account leaders need to engage executives, earn advocacy and accelerate impact.

The Programs

Three focused programs. One higher standard.

Each Elevator targets a capability that separates good account managers from strategic account leaders. Run them individually, or combine them into an integrated journey that builds on the Account Management Accelerator™.

ELEVATOR PROGRAM

Strategic
Thinking

Think like an executive. Build the strategic thinking capabilities to make better decisions, prioritize effectively, mitigate risk and shape sustainable advantage.

4Hours of live learning
6Strategic thinking disciplines
60Min. of self-directed pre-work
The Challenge

Senior stakeholders expect partners who think at their level

Executives are navigating competing priorities, constrained resources and constant change. They have little time for partners who arrive with product messages and wait to be told what matters.

Account leaders who earn a seat at the table move beyond “tell me what to say.” They think on their feet, frame options and lead higher-value conversations.

  • Complexity: customer systems, markets and ecosystems are harder to read
  • Competing priorities: everything matters, so choices about focus matter more
  • Higher expectations: executives want insight, options and a clear point of view
The Framework

Six disciplines that elevate how account leaders think.

Strategic thinking is creative, iterative and non-linear. Participants apply the disciplines selectively, as the challenge demands, not as prescribed steps.

01

Envision Future Possibilities

Imagine the future the organization is trying to create and what meaningful success looks like.

02

Discover Market, System + Customer Insights

Change perspectives to uncover what matters, what is changing and what others may not yet see.

03

Generate Strategic Options

Explore genuinely different pathways the organization could take toward its desired future.

04

Influence the Ecosystem

Understand who could accelerate or constrain progress, and why.

05

Choose Where to Focus

ELEVATOR PROGRAM

Executive
Storytelling

Show up with executive presence, then co-create shared narratives that transform understanding, strengthen alignment, build advocacy and mobilize action. Executive Presence is part of this program.

7Hours of live learning
2Integrated parts: Presence + Storytelling
90Min. of self-directed pre-work
The Challenge

Information informs. Presence and stories move people to act.

Executives don’t have time to decode complexity. Data, slides and product messages rarely earn attention on their own, and they are almost never retold.

In strategic account management, the most powerful story is one the customer helps create, believes in, and can retell and act on without you in the room.

  • Presence first: how you show up shapes whether executives listen at all
  • From scripts to stories: shift from product messages to customer-centered value narratives
  • Vision in a few words: make the complex simple, memorable and retellable
  • With, not to: shape the story with customers so they own and advocate for it
Part 1: Executive Presence

Shape your signature executive presence.

Executive Presence is the foundation of Executive Storytelling. It sits at the intersection of three dimensions, and impact multiplies when all three are aligned. About 3 hours live, with 30 minutes of pre-work and a self-assessment.

Who you areAuthentic Identity

Values, beliefs, mindset and purpose.

How you show upExecutive Presence

Clarity, confidence, curiosity, connection and credibility.

How they want to engageContextual Intelligence

Read the room, adapt to context, align with their priorities and choose the right moment.

The five disciplines
01

Clarity

Creates alignment and momentum by making complex ideas relevant, simple, concise and actionable.

02

Confidence

Builds confidence during uncertainty by remaining calm, composed and decisive under pressure.

03

Curiosity

Generates insight and trust by helping executives think more deeply and strategically about their business.

04

Connection

Establishes trusted relationships through empathy, relevance and connecting people, ideas and opportunities.

05

Credibility

Earns influence because advice is evidence-based, well-founded, relevant and consistently delivered.

Part 2: Executive Storytelling

Six principles for stories that resonate, build advocacy and mobilize action.

About 4 hours live, with 60 minutes of pre-work. Built on the Hero’s Journey archetype and the four Cs of executive storymaking: Construct, Content, Communication and Co-Creation.

01

Make It About Them

Start with what matters to the customer: their headwinds, tailwinds, priorities and desired outcomes.

02

Be Clear + Concise

Make the complex simple, not simplistic. Get to the point and speak their language.

03

Engage Heart, Head + Hands

Connect emotion with evidence and a credible path to impact.

04

Connect to Impact

Tie the story to outcomes meaningfully better than today’s reality or credible alternatives.

05

Design to Stick + Travel

Use fresh insight, vivid imagery and contrast so the story is memorable and easy to retell.

06

With, Not To

Shape the story with customers and partners. When they help create it, they own it and carry it forward.
